Entrelac knitting is a unique technique that creates a visually stunning fabric with a textured appearance. In this course, you will learn the basics of entrelac knitting, including how to knit the entrelac triangles and squares, how to pick up stitches along the edges of those shapes, and how to create a seamless fabric. By the end of the course, you will be well on your way to using their newfound skills to make an entrelac scarf.

This course is suitable for students with some knitting experience who are knitting, purling, and making a basic increase and decrease. 

Required materials: 

  • 2 skeins Berroco Wizard, or 390-440 yards light bulky or heavy worsted weight yarn, preferably self-striping
  • size US 10 (6.0mm) needles
  • Entrelac Scarf by Sarah Keller (included in class)

Sarah is the owner of Knot Another Hat, the Columbia Gorge's premier LYS, and she's been keeping the Gorge stocked in yarn since 2005. With 20 years of teaching experience and over 100 sweaters under her belt, she loves sharing her knowledge of everything she's learned in the realm of knitting and owning a local yarn store. She also produced a local fiber festival for five years, and loves sharing her knowledge and experience in the area of event planning and fiber-business management.
